I have a 16-bit COBOL app that uses a lot of File I/O tranfers between Server to Workstation, however, we just went to two subnets but on the same hop and the file transfer is like 10 times slower. We run a pure IP environment with Netware 5.1.

Is this a Novell or a Cico issue? Any ideas would be appreciated.

The times in the past that we have experienced this type of slowness has always come down to one of two things: Auto-negotiation or duplex issues. I would check to insure that you set the port speed and duplex of the servers and switch ports they are connected to. This has always resolved these type of issues for us.

I have checked all of this and it all looks good. I am lost now. Is there anything else to check?

Only thing else I can suggest is to check for errors or drops on the interfaces in the router. Good luck.
