Can anybody tell me why this javascript slideshow script works in Safari

and this one doesn't?

Is there something wrong with the slideshow script in the 2nd link that doesn't make it work in Safari?

The script that fails for Safari uses some IE-specific graphic effects --

slideshow1.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=2)"; 
slideshow1.style.filter="blendTrans(duration=crossFadeDuration1)"; 
slideshow1.filters.blendTrans.Apply();

Try commenting the effects out, see how Macs like it.
