I have 3 SIP trunks with Broadvox, connected to a Linksys router. I am able to get the SIP trunks to register after a reboot, and when I make a call in, it rings and is picked up by voicemail.

However, after about a minute and 20 seconds, all 3 channels fall out of service. I can't get them back unless I reboot again, and then they fall back out of service. But it works for the first minute or so.

Here is part of the log while the call doesn't come in after a minute.

One more thing. I'm not using Registration authentication. I am registered via static IP address.

It is clear that your "registration" expires.
Can you ask for a different way of registration ?

RFC3261 has this to say about 503:

If a fatal transport error is reported by the transport layer(generally, due to fatal ICMP errors in UDP or connection failures in TCP), the condition MUST be treated as a 503 (Service Unavailable) status code.

..... and ....

21.5.4. 503 Service Unavailable

The server is temporarily unable to process the request due to a temporary overloading or maintenance of the server. The server MAY indicate when the client should retry the request in a Retry-After header field. If no Retry-After is given, the client MUST act as if it had received a 500 (Server Internal Error) response.

A client (proxy or UAC) receiving a 503 (Service Unavailable) SHOULD attempt to forward the request to an alternate server. It SHOULD NOT forward any other requests to that server for the duration specified in the Retry-After header field, if present.

Servers MAY refuse the connection or drop the request instead of responding with 503 (Service Unavailable).

Seems to be a SIP Provider problem, decrease your registration timer to less then 80 seconds and see what happens.

might have something to do with the To and From fields using different IP addresses.

To: <sip:7042002769@209.249.3.56
From: <sip:7046545312@209.249.3.59

1 of which is your provider address.
try creating a new sip trunk using the 2nd IP as a provider, reg off, enter * in the URI tables (assuming you are >V5)and set up the same Incoming Trunk as the 1st SIP Provider, but leave the outgoing on a unique number. this way your outgoing will still behave correctly and your existing incoming routes still apply.

I googled around and it looks like you have turned around the 209.249.3.56 and the 209.249.3.59

On the provisioning sheet they gave me, this was their info.

DNS A Record
dfwnx01ga1.pa.broadvox.net

DNS SRV Record
dfwnx01ga1.psrv.broadvox.net

IP Addr 1
209.249.3.59

Then hey have a table for this:

Allow The Media IPs below and all UDP Ports Up To 65535

209.249.3.58
209.249.3.81
64.158.162.79
64.152.60.164
208.93.227.5
208.93.226.13
209.249.3.60
209.249.3.164
64.158.162.100
64.156.174.71
208.93.227.13
208.93.226.196
209.249.3.71
64.158.162.71
64.152.60.71
64.156.174.79
208.93.226.5

So I believe I have the correct IP for the ITSP, or no.

I use broadvox on my IP500 with R6 for 2 months now. and 1 month I had them working with R5 before. If you talk with tech support have them set you up for Registration authentication. You can contact me offnet, and I have screen shots from my R6 config I can email you if you want.

Jeff, I know.. I was the one you sent your pics too last week, or 2 weeks ago. I just got around to setting them up.

They did setup my trunks for IP authentication, and not Registration Authentication. I tried calling support today, but didn't get anyone to have them change it, so I emailed their NOC. Hopefully they'll have this completed soon.

sure this isnt a NAT time out issue?

What is the Linksys router you are using?

TBH, I wouldnt like to use one in a commercial enviroment since they arent really designed with SIP in mind where as a non-domestic device you have far more control over the traffic.

Also noticed this error within Monitor

Did you try to tick "Registration required" even if it's not needed for you provider.

And on the LAN Port (SIP) > Network Topology > Binding Refresh Time (seconds)

Set it to 20 sec, this will send a 'SIP Options requests’ every 20 sec and keeps the firewall port open.

I tried:

Ticking Registration Required
Changing the IP to .56
Lowering the Binding Refresh Time to 20 seconds
Creating a new SIP trunk with the other .56 IP

All to no avail.

I did get their NOC on the phone, and they said that after I reboot, and the lines come into service, they'll send me an OK, and I reply with a BYE, and then the circuit goes out of Service. They are sending me the trace now to look at, and they weren't able to assist with the PBX provisioning portion of it they said.

On a side note, tomorrow I'll have to request to have the Registration changed from a static IP to a dynamic IP, and then I'll have to turn registration "on". But, my IP hasn't changed since I got the trunks, so it should still at least work until it changes.

I'll post their trace in a few.
