SIP Trunk to Neotel Issue

Hi All,

I am having difficulty setting up a SIP Trunk to a certain provider.
Firstly the provider says I dont need authentication and has only provided me with an IP address of his device that sits at the edge of the network that should route calls out
(10.22.9.3) my ip office 10.22.9.2.
I have set up the trunk and it says idle. When I make calls there is activity on the trunk however the phone keeps responding "waiting for line"
I have attached some traces can someone please assist. I am new to SIP troubleshooting.

Hi yes, we had to change a few ways of configuring the SIP Line.
We then experienced issues with faxing over a SIP Trunk using T38
Have you had any issues like this before?
 
As far as I know Neotel support fax over G711. I don't suppose you have an example of the config you used to connect to the Neotel SIP Trunk.

Just the trunk setup for calls I can't seem to get it to work.

As a matter of interest what issues are you having?
 
I just can't get the Neotel SIP Trunk to connect or work. They have only given me the proxy IP and they say there is no authentication. I havent done a SIP trunk without authentication. Do you use drop box or sugarsync. Maybe upload screen shots or config. I will owe you big time. You ever need some help in Cape Town just let me know.

Yes thats exactly what they would provide just one IP, and no auth...Im using dropbox but not to sure how to share...
I bttled to get it working as well, I have also used the Wan port to route traffic, Its working but Im not sure if that is the correct way of doing things. So how would I share the folder with you?
 
If you save config in the public folder, than you open the drop box website by right clicking on drop box on bottom right of start menu. and highlight the file and copy public link and this you can paste on this post.

Cool ill try that at site tomorrow. I see that under sip credentials you have a password. Did you use the sip number as the password? Thanks a lot for the help man.

Have you ever done any Neotel PRI's. I have done 2 now and they work fine but I get a hell of a lot of errors under the system status. Never get same issue with Telkom. You ever had that.

No Problem, yes I used the SIP number as the password as well. I have created the SIP trunk not to advertise the DID when calling out from and extension so it will publish only the main number, if you need to publish the DID externally let me know but you in for major painfull configuration...
Nope no PRI configs with Neotel, I try to stay away from them. What errors are you getting?

How on earth does that SIP trunk work?

The ARS isnt right, and the SIP trunk isnt either?

You have the trunks routing via LAN 1 network topology and no stun configured? There is an IP address in both ITSP Proxy and Domain name, the ARS isn't en-bloc dialling.

Hi the SIP Trunk doesnt require registration and we are not using the ARS any longer.
Your recommendations to configure this better is welcomed. Thanks
