SIP/MGCP via ISA 2006

Hi,

I am trying to find out if ISA 2006 supports the VoIP protocols MGCP & SIP.

There is no protocol defined in the server so I created a new protocol using the UDP ports (5060=SIP, 2427=MGCP and 16400-19000=RTP) but it won't work. The monitoring tool shows "Unidentified IP information".

Searching Google doesn't show much but there's a few people saying that it's not supported. Microsoft Knowledge Base doesn't show anything either.

Any ideas or information would be appreciated.

Because of the way SIP works a simple access rule will not work since there needs to be some inteligence to look into the packet and determine the source & destination of the RTP stream between the 2 endpoints. So you need some sort of application filter. Currently there isn't one....
