Single Bios beep in Windows?

I recently built this system :
AV78X Asus mobo
AMD Athlon 2400 xp
Geforce 4 4600TI
2 HDD's
1DVD player, 1 CD-R
512mb Ram
420watt PS

Basically this is my gaming/entertainment pc, the issue is that intermittently while in windows i hear a single bios beep.I have tried searching the web for any reference to this issue and only found 1 hit so far indicating that beeps while windows is running indicates not enough power. I kinda figured the 420 watt ps was overkill to begin with can anyone verify this?

Hi Thrork,

Not sure if this is the exact cause of your error, but there is a Beep on error setting in the General tab of Tweak UI (this is v1.33 on Win2K Pro). Have you tried turning this off?

Unless there is a problem with the power supply or its feed from your mains.

My gut instinct is that this is not a power issue, but you might look on this site to see if you gain any clues:

Some BIOS always have one single beep. Sometimes there is a BIOS Flash to remove that. I have never used that motherboard, but I really like the Asus A7N8X Deluxe.

Just a little more info(I meant to put this in the original post)when the system is idle or just playing music, browsing ...ect i never hear the beep, but when i am playing a game which i imagine intensifies the cpu usage i hear the beep on approximately a 10 minute interval.

Also it's a A7V8X mobo , i noticed the typo in my previous post.

Could be an overheat warning.
