Simulate Showing and Hiding Windows File Explorer Bar in Access

I would like to know if there is a way to simulate the way the Windows File Explorer bar works. You can view the folders in the window to the left and the details of the folders in the window to the right. You can open and close the left window at any time.

I would like to use it to simulate a search bar where the search fields are in the window to the left and the search results display in the window to the right. I would like the users to be able to close the search window on the left and have the detail window on the right maximize to full size. When the users click a button to show the search window again, I would like it to display in the same position on the left.

Does anyone know if this is possible in Access 2000?

Yes it is posible.
You have to play around with the left,top width and hieght properties of the two forms to position them in their respective positions. During a 'on close' of the search window you also have to do a DoCmd.Maximize to the results window. Don't forget to set the results windows popup property to 'yes' as well.

Thanks ProgramError! I can get the windows to position themseleves at the top, but how do I get the correct height since the forms will have different heights depending on the computer they are displayed on and the resolution?

Thanks ProgramError. I donwloaded that sample that you recommended and I took a look at it. I may not need it, as I think I have worked out a solution, which I need to test on a different computer before I can determine if it is a workable solution. I think the "WindowHeight" property should give me the same results across all computers. I will test it tomorrow.
