I want to simplify and adjust Server 2003 Enterprise to use like like XP Pro X64 Edition in terms of log in, fast user switching, and coloefull themes. I heard of using XP style theme in server Standard but nothing but classic shows up in Enterprise Edition for either x86 or x64 editions. I am using x86 version mainly for it's usability in current camera and scanner driver support till x64 supports grows. Where do I start in limiting the strictness of the server firewall to that of XP Pro with SP2? Are there components I can turn off or remove to keep the perfomance up and CPU usage down? I'd like to use it as a high end workstation OS. Any feed back would be welcomed.

Well you have to understand that the server software is NOT designed to be used as a workstation. You will probably find less driver support for the server product than for a workstation (like XP or Vista). The security features are more robust and the services that load by default consume more memory and CPU resources.
I myself have Windows 2003 installed on my principal desktop and I mostly use it as a server to host VMware and as a file server for the remaining macines on my home network. On my laptop which runs XP I do pretty much everything else.
Hope this helps.
