Simple question (Unix)

Hiya,
extraordinarily unlikely, I would say. VB is so firmly entrenched in the Windows OS, it's almost an extension of it. VB is, essentially, just a way of using all the functionality of the underlying Windows components; all the objects, API's and runtime libraries that make up Windows itself. Trying to write a VB application which runs on another operating system just wouldn't work, getting VB to run happily between differing versions of Windows is hard enough! If you want cross platform compatibility, go for something like Java or C, not VB.
Now watch somebody else go, "Er, that's not true, actually..."

*nods*... I was pretty sure of the answer when I asked, because of all the windows oriented runtime files... but.. darn hehe... im working on a client-server program, and im looking for another host for my domain... I'd rather have linux or unix for my perl scripts, most of em I wrote to be unix friendly hehe.... but I need a winNT server for the app to be hosted on =(.... I guess I COULD host the app myself.. but then again im only on DSL... but I'm getting a deal on T1 for $20 a month (rofl) so maybe I could do something with that =)
