simple question hopefully simple solution 1

Hi everyone I have a quick question I am sure it is easy. I am making a complaint database and I have the form and table already created. Basically I want to be able to generate a report on a specefic record ex. they find it in the form window and click print report it should ONLY print that record and not all of them. Can someone explain how to do this or make a sample file or point me to somewhere on the web. This would be greatly appreciated.

what you would need to do is reference the report recordsource to look at the form, and point it at a distinct value such as IDNumber.

In your query in the report you would need to place the following in the criteria of the IDnumber that you may have.


[forms]![FORM_NAME]![IDNUMBER_FIELD]

this will enable you to only print the record that is currently active on the form.

I know exactly what you are trying to do, and its quite simple if you know how. If you do post a file, then please downgrade it to A97, i'm still using that version.

thanks for getting back to me so quick I registered with the other forum only problem is I dont think it will export into access 97. Am I missing something?

you need to convert it... its in the tools menu option I believe...
