Good afternoon,

I am currently working at The Robert Gordon University in Aberdeen developing a database for distance learning students, and one feature which the staff would like to see is Mail merge - the ability to send letters to individual students, an entire course, or specialism, and also when their grades are ratified by the examination board.

I think I'm quite good in access, but when it comes to Advanced SQL and anything more than basic coding I'm stuck. I've read through the relevant FAQ's and read through many a search result and I'm more confused than I was before!

Firstly, I'll tackle the easiest one first, sending a letter to an individual student. When a button is pressed on the students details form [Edit Student] I'd like a prompt asking the user whether they would like the letter to be sent to their Home or Correspondance Addresses. [Home Address] or [Correspondance Address]. Upon selecting an option, ideally Word would open up, with todays date at the top, followed by the address, and then by Dear [Title] [Full Name].

Is this even possible?

I'll be ultimately grateful for any help regarding this, I've been dreading attempting this part of the functionality from day 1. I also understand this example is near pointless, however, it's what the Staff want.

Thanks in advance fo any help,

David Dawson
