I have installed the SIIG ATA 133 PCI Controller card and I'm trying to do a fresh install of Win2k server. I hit F6 to install the 3rd party driver but I always get an error message when it starts to load. Here's the error:

File pnp680.sys caused an unexpected error (1024) at line 1211 in d:\nt\private\ntos\boot\setup\oemdisk.c

There is absolutely no help on the SIIG website so I'm hoping someone on this forum will be able to shed some light on this.

Thanks!
Dave

What 3rd party driver(s) are you trying to install? If the SIIG board is to be used for normal IDE, you don't need drivers. They are only needed if you are setting up raid. The SIIG board is recognized on boot-up and and you set any special settings there. (Press xx to enter setup).

I'm trying to install SIIG's driver for that specific model. I tried loading Win2k Server without loading the driver first and it doesn't recognize the drive. It just tells me there was no drive detected and stops the install. This is why I'm assuming I need to hit F6 and load the driver first but I'm getting the aforementioned error message.

Is the SIIG board being used as the boot drive? If so, you may have to set the main bios to detect "scsi" before IDE.
