Hi.
I have a laptop user (XP SP2) who logs into our SBS2003 network. Her signature is there under Mail Format > Signatures.
I'll set it as default, and all will be good for a day or two or even three.
But, within a week, her new emails come up with no default signature.
She can insert it, no problem, it just stops coming up by default.
I've reset the thing several times, but the issue persists.

The user does not use custom forms.

Any ideas?

Thanks!
Corie

Is the user using Word as the email editor? If so, is Word having problems at times? Possibly crashing? I have been on a PC where Word was the email editor (and also had the default signature in Word), and if I had a problem with Word, where it had to close down, then Word would not work as the editor for Outlook email messages, thus doing away with my signature. Have you checked into this possibility?

I heard that using Word as the email editor was causing the fonts in some stored signatures to change, but it never occurred to me that it could cause this issue as well.
I'll check it out when the user comes in this morning.

Thanks!

Corie

I figured this one out. A tech moved TS to a different server, and since users authenticate on the TS server, where there are no profiles stored, the changes can never be saved.
I am going to move TS back to the Citrix server where it belongs, have a talk with the tech, and go from there.

Thanks!

OK, I got TS back on the Citrix server, licensing on the SBS2003 DC, and everything was fine - for a week. Suddenly the user is having signature problems again.

We use roaming profiles. All our coordinators use thin clients and log into Citrix.
All our exec's use laptops or desktops, and log in to the network, but not Citrix.

This particular user does both. It's when she logs into the network that her signature goes missing. Then the profile is saved, and when she logs into Citrix, no Sig.

I GIVE!! What is the solution?!

Thanks,
Corie

I have resolved the issue. I simply bought another thin client so she no longer has the laptop that connects directly to the network. Now she only uses Citrix, so there is no longer any profile issue. Even though it's a roaming profile, I think that ultimately was the source.
