signaling server as follower

does anyone know how to add a second signaling server as a follower? I followed the NTPs but had zero luck. I am running Succ 4.5 and already have a Leader SigServ installed. When I try to transfer from Element Mngr I get a failure. In the NTPs there is no place to add the IP adressing, Mac address and such when installing the SigServ software, so I am not sure I followed the right procedure. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks to all who respond.

First: install software on SS and choose follower for it. You will not be able to configure IP addresses.

Then in Element manager, on the last tab of Configuration node, choose to add a Sigserv. Here you will be able to enter all IP configuration for that new SS.

Thanks for the response dlesap, I followed those exact procedures but when I try to transfer from EM I get a failure. Any ideas?

I remember that this will definitely happen if you typo the MAC address in the element manager config page. Just something to triplecheck.

Don't forget that MAC address to enter is the one written as MAC 1 which is port 1 ELAN.

Check that software loaded on both SS is the same release: 4.50.25 or something like

You can also try to reboot SS follower, and try again.

If still no success, you will have to sniff ELAN port for what's going out from SS follower. Use Ethereal for example (free on Internet) You may see bootp message with the MAC@ of SS. If no, your SS have ethernet port failure.
