I am adding a sig server and vgmc to a Succession 3.0 PBX which already has an IP Line card. The customer wants to leave their existing IP Line card and softphone deployment alone and independent of the sig server and vgmc card which will be for virtual trunks. I know this is inefficient, but it is what it is…..

Do you think I will see any issues when I add the hardware to the ELAN. I will be using a completely separate subnet for the new virtual trunk TLAN addresses. I am worried about the sig server automatically doing something to the existing IP Line card which will be on the same ELAN (Even though it won't be built in the new node).

Any thoughts or words of wisdom would be helpful.

Thanks
Rob

Even though i disagree with the setup you should not have any issues on a different subnet and different node because the sets are told which server to register too so they should not conflict. Good luck .

No conflict. The SigServ doesn't discover ip stuff by itself... It need your config to do it. If your existing IP Line card is not defined in SigServ config...it will not be involved in that new hardware
