We currently have VRUs using Dialogic analog integration. We are upgrading to digital Dialogic cards, model D/82JCT. I can call any of my channels and the VRU answers. However, the VRU won't respond to any digits from any Rolmphone. If I call out and back in via trunks it's fine, as it is from analog phones dialing directly. When I call another Rolmphone from an RP400, answer, then enter digits from the RP400 I get 'not possible' on the display. I don't hear anything on the receiving Rolmphone - but do if I call an analog phone, as expected. I wonder if there's a parameter or other setting that needs to be modified. We have many of the same digital VRUs connected to Rolm 9751s where the integration works fine.

I just realized we may be out of luck. I remembered with Phonemail the 9006 uses an SLMS card, so maybe out of band digit recognition isn't possible with 2 SLMR channels. I could probably set up individual voicemail access channels by connecting an analog line into a trunk port dedicated to the voicemail access extensions. There's also an AMO I don't have access to with my rsca login, I think it's PURFT. That would display whether the Phonemail option is enabled, if that's required.

I was posting in here yesterday and the boss walked in, so this is shorter...

There IS a way to turn that on - I just can't remember it. We had the same problem at one point and I can't remember the details because it was like 10 years ago, but one of our sites had problems when they dialed automated systems like banks, answering machines, and other things that require you to enter PINs and stuff, and they could not dial in the codes. We had PhoneMail so they didn't have trouble with our own stuff.

There is some parameter that needs to be set that allows DTMF after the call is connected. It was a really simple fix and I'm just having a brain fart. It was either some trunk parameter, or something in SYSDA or one of the other system parameters like TIMC.

I know there is a way to fix it. I'm using the Dialogic boards for our integration to AVST CallXpress, and there are a lot of parameters that can be set up for those boards as well that might be affecting it.

DTMF is being sent to outside connections, the trouble is only from a Rolmphone to an SLMR channel on the VRU. Someone suggested a parameter in COS , INDTMF, which sounds logical but unfortunately it's not a choice in the system I have. We formerly used AVT's CallXpress (wish we still did) on Rolm 9751s with no trouble. We have many Rolm 9751s using these digital VRUs with the same Dialogic cards with no trouble. If you do happen to think of the parameter that had to be modified years ago please let me know - thanks.

Hopefully your boss supports using these forums, mine does as 5 years ago and was new to Avaya PBXs. I have found solutions through this and other forums. I know it's a 2-way street. like you I look through the Siemens forums and have offered successful solutions to some situations posted.
