I currently installed Win XP on a computer with a Gigabyte GA-7IXE mobo. For some reason when I try to shutdown the computer via the operating system, it won't completely power down the computer. The computer didn't have this problem running Win 98SE. Any suggestions/recommendations?

Go to Control Panel, open Power options, open the third Tag "hibernation" and uncheck the option box for "Enable Hybernation"
XP should now shut down as you require.
Good luck, Rosco

I have a GigaByte GA-7VAX and have the same problem as you. Even with the hybernation turned off. After windows finishes unloading, I hear a click. At that point I have to move my mouse. As soon as the mouse moves, the power shuts off. No one has been able to help me either.
Good luck w/ your problem.
