I have a database where the log file is allocated 3GB, but I'm only using 30MB. How can I shrink the log file to 500MB or so?

Thanks in advance.

Try DBCC SHRINKFILE....BOL has documentation J. Jones

USE yourdb
GO
DBCC SHRINKFILE (filename, 500)
GO J. Jones

Shrinking the log may require more than running
DBCC shrinkfile. Check the following resources.

Thanks tlbroadbent. I had already tried dbcc shrinkfile with no success. The links you provided seem to have the answers I need.
