Shrink Log File 1

I have a database where the log file is allocated 3GB, but I'm only using 30MB. How can I shrink the log file to 500MB or so?

Shrinking the log may require more than running

Thanks tlbroadbent. I had already tried dbcc shrinkfile with no success. The links you provided seem to have the answers I need.
