Showing "Uploading.." when user uploads a file

Is there any way to show something like PHP shows as far as "uploading..." when a file is being uploaded and finally a "Done" when a file is completed with Perl?

Right now perl doesn't display anything until my script finishes the upload. Unfortunately the average web sufrer is not too smart and if they don't seem some type of a response immediately they assume the "internet" froze and hit the back button or close the browser.

there is no built in way that I know of with perl similar to PHP. I am pretty sure you could code something or search CPAN for a module.
