I have a little problem, because I want to show an
JPEG in Crystal and I don't know how.
With BMP-Pictures it works fine but other datatyps not.

Can somebody help me?

Thank's in advance

Is this a .jpg that is stored in the database as a blob field, or is this a stand alone .jpg you want to place at the top of the report, or what?

I just tested this in version 8.5 and it works fine.

hi,

the pic is stored in an folder on C:\, and yes, I want to place it on pageheader.

If I try to show it, I only see the symbol like (for example the Paint-Symbol) it shown in the folder but not the real pic (for example an ring).

How it works to store an pic in the database? I never do that befor!

If you are trying to display a static picture, just place it on the report as Gary suggested.

If this is a .jpg that varies for every record on the report, Crystal cannot do this as a stand alone tool. The image itself must be in the database as a blob field.

To add a static picture to your report, use "Insert Picture" on the menu and select the file.

There are several potential reasons for it not appearing. JPG can be of varying quality. Use photoshop etc and see if you need to change any settings.

Another approach is to use the Windows XP Image resize tool and "Resize" for web. A large high quality image on a crystal report can look poor if resized within crystal.

Thanks you help me a lot!
With the WinXP-Image it works.

But I have also an question. How it works to store an pic in the database?
I don't understand that very much.

Thanks in advance

If you make a field in your database a memo or blob field, then you can store the pic in that field.

Thats ok, but I don't understand how to store the pic in the field.
If I make a field with the SQL Enterprise Manager I can't change the field.
I only know that I should insert binärydatas.
So could you explain me step by step how to make a Blobfield with a pic inserted.

Thanks

Geri

You an't change the field? Or you cannot change the datatype of the field?

I have used MS Access as a front end to load the pics into a memo field in MS SQL Server. However I did not design the Access app and this question is best asked in another forum, perhaps one of the MS SQL forums.
