We've just removed active directory from 2 win 2000 servers so now they're just member servers. However since we done this they both report "Replication of license information failed because the License Logging Service on server \\A_DOMAIN_CONTROLLER could not be contacted". The domain controller is a windows 2003 server and indeed the License Logging service is disabled. However, the server it's trying to contact is NOT the PDC emulator - do all domain controllers talk to all others for this service or how does it work? According to the below article on M$ website the service doesn't need to be running in 2003 server
