How can I go about setting up two monitors (each with different content on them) to the receptionist’s computer? I want to have a small monitor in the lobby for information, and a large HDTV on the shop floor for other information. Both connected to the receptionist’s computer (along with her monitor)? The lobby monitor is on the other side of the wall from her so it won't be a problem running cable. The one in the shop however is about 50 to 100 ft away.

Well you could do an extended/separate desktop with all three via some video cards and place whatever info you want on its portion.

Or you can try something like Active Virtual Desktops: Or Matrox:
Or use Multiple VM's and an extended desktop.

Or another free version of something listed above that i cant think of right now.

thank you for the response. What do you think would be the best way to connect the shop HDTV, over Cat5 cable with a HDMI/Cat5 converter or some other means?

If I remember correctly, the HDMI/Cat5 converters were pretty pricey. When I did my 30ft extension, I simply purchased two 15ft VGA extender cables for less than $30. New egg has 100ft HDMI cables for about $100 where as the HDMI/cat5 converters are about $90 + the Cat5 cable unless you have 75ft handy.

I havent extended High Def video before so Im unaware if there is any physical limitation but judging by there being 100ft extension cables, Ill safely say its limit is well beyond that.

Before buying the cabling and extenders, make sure you have settled on a economical way to display to these monitors.
