My Windows 95B computer shows an error message at bootup. It can't find the shlwapi.dll file. I have this file but don't know how or where to intall it. Please help.

could be that the file is corrupted. try an over-the-top re-installation of your os, hopefully it will fix the problem and you won't be losing any data.

hope this helps. peace! [peace]

Run SFC. That will replace the file if it's missing or corrupted. If you can't even boot, the file should be in c:\windows\system. My stock version number is 5.00.2614.3500, 227 kb.

My error, I saw the "5B" as an "8". I think the file would still go in the ...\system directory (just ignore the version number I posted). This brings another question: you say you have the file - is it the Win95 version?
