Shell external program without waiting for return

In my Access program, I have it Shell out another external app (utility). How can I program the Access VBA part so that Access keeps going and doesn't wait until the utility finishes? Thanks.

Shell() is an asynchronous function; it launches the specified program & keeps on keepin' on. It sounds like you may need to tweak the focus value, so that the launched app doesn't move to the forefront.
