I have two Win 2000 operating systems and one Win98se. I have an Epson 700 printer conected serial to Win 2000 computer(A) . All computers go through router.

I can print on the Epson locally and with the other Win 2000 computer (B), however I can not even see the printer in the network neighborhood on the Win 98 computer. I can see computer (A)'s shared C drive in the Win 98's network neighborhood and I can see the printer on computer (B) confirming that sharing is enabled.

Why can't I see the printer on the Win 98 Computer? When I went to install the printer on the Win 98 unit, I can't tell it where the port is since it can't see the shared printer. Any ideas?

the username that is used to log into the win98 computer has to be set up as an exact match on the windows 2000 computer - same username and password

Then you should be able to assign rights to that user to access the shared resources

Madonnac, yes we have the same user id and password and as mentioned the Win 98 computer can access the hard drive on the Win 2000, its just that the printer doesn't show up in the Win98 computer's network neighborhood only the C drive.

Still looking for help.
