When I view the properties for a local drive on a new machine, I only get the General and Tools tabs. I need to get back my Sharing and Security tabs on this machine so I can share it on the network. What am I missing???
Thanks!

Sounds to me like you are in a group that does not have permissions to access the sharing or security. Doublecheck to see if you are in the local administrators group, and that you are not in any groups that have denied access to viewing the sharing and security.

Good Luck!
Anonymous God
anongod@hotmail.com

"Drawing on my fine command of language, I said nothing.

Has the drive been formatted to NTFS?

AnonymousGod said my first option but if this did not help try checking Control panel\services\server and computer Browser are started this may help your sharing tab problem
Are you NTFS and have you checked your event viewer
