Sharepoint 2003

Anybody now of Commvault cant Backup/Restore single Documents in Sharepoint 2003. Not a upgrade from SPS 2001 to 2003?

Does commvault have a sharepoint agent for Sharepoint 2003 with no Web-Based Document storage system. Can it backup/restore individual documents in the content databases without restoring the whole database

CommVault has a SharePoint 2003 / SharePoint Portal 2003 agent. When you purchase the SharePoint Agent (Portal or Services), there are three components provided:

1. SharePoint Document 2003 iDataAgent
2. SharePoint Database 2003 iDataAgent
3. SQL iDataAgent

In addtion to the above components, the Windows File System iDataAgent is installed to protect the server.

Data Secured by the SharePoint Database 2003 iDataAgent

The SharePoint Database 2003 iDataAgent backs up and restores the database components of the system. Note that the Exchange or Lotus Notes data is not secured by the SharePoint Database iDataAgent.

All-in-one Server
Portal Sites, including Service, Profile, and Site Databases
Portal Site Indexes (Content Sources)
Content Databases
Team Site Databases
Site Collections (top level sites)
Single Sign-on (Database and Encryption Key)
Backward Compatible Library

Then the next questoin would be can you restore individual items in Document, Content Library - from what I have seen this is all in SQL now and it not as easy as SPS 2001

Definitely can do. It's a simple browse and recover similar to the Windows File System iDataAgent.

One thing to point out, we were advised that the IDataAgents for Sharepoint 2003 only work on Galaxy 5.9. When we had 4.2 running the Sharepoint agents we were sent by our reseller could not back up SPS 2003 at all.
