Shared Printers Not Found

Help Needed.

Just built a new server with 20 printer attached and shared out.

None of the shares can be connected to. All PCs running XP Pro.

Is there a service that needs to be started ?

printers can only be connected via IPadd and not share name.

Are you able to see the shares (via Network Places or using the Net View command)? If so, what error are you getting when you try to connect?

The shares show up - but whe nyou connect it says share not found........

All PCs running XP Pro.

Just as a test, if they are running SP2, try disabling the firewall.

Also, the fact that you can add via IP may indicate a DNS issue. Make sure the workstations are pointing to the correct DNS server.
