We are in the process of moving from Ex2K on W2K box to Ex2k3 on W2k3 (both servers on on the same domain). Most of the move has gone ok but we are having problems with shared mailboxes.
Where those shared mailboxes are used to send email, the user used to be able to send under the shared mailbox anme and the "sent item" appeared in the shared mailbox sent items folder. Now (but not consistantly all), some users emails are "sent on behalf of" and the item appears in the users sent items not the shared mailboxes.
Under 2k, we only gave the user permissions to access the mailbox but, in some cases, adding "grant on behalf of" to the AD permissions page fixes it, but on others it doesn't.
I am presuming that this is a permissions problem but I can't work out where to amend the permissions so everything works.
