I have a small network at home with 3 computers currently running on the 192.168.0.XXX IP range. All the computers have shared folders and from my computer I can access the folders with no problem at all, however they cannot access mine. If I go to my network places and then to view my shares, it works from every computer including mine, but when I try and actually open a particular share, the computer just locks up. Get the hourglass symbol and you're pretty much doomed until a restart. I've compared the settings on each, check the tcp settings, run the network setup wizard, removed the network adapter drivers and re-added them again and nothing has worked so far.
Any ideas? I have also tried to remove folder shares, and reshare them again. An interesting thing to note is that one computer is sharing an ADSL internet connection, and on the other computer, the internet gateway appears as recognising an ICS server. Although my computer works perfectly on the internet, the icon does not appear in my network places.
Any advice anyone could offer would be much appreciated.
