I want create shortcut to my exe file in start/programs group.
So I have file 'rejestrator.exe' i mark 'M Item' checkbox i fill Description as 'rejestrator' command line:
'%srejestrator.exe' (i try also:
'%s\rejestrator.exe' and '%s/rejestrator.exe') and when I run setup it shows message that files don't be installed...

What I'm doing wrong ?

I normally use the '%s\rejestrator.exe' format, but don't have any problems. Just a few questions:
1) Do you move just the files you are distributing into a separate directory away from your development area and build the setup from there? (As reccomended in the help file.)
2) Do you close the project before firing up the Wizard?
3) Do you have any files with the same name in separate directories? (This will always cause problems!)
4) Do you have any files with embedded spaces? (Some people have reported problems with this.)
5) What version and SP of VFP are you running? If not the last SP (3 for VFP 5.0, 5 for VFP 6.0), have you at least installed any available Wizard updates?

Thanx a lot for response!

My answers:

1) Yes - I move the files you are distributing into a separate directory away from your development area and build the setup from there.

2) Yes I close the project before firing up the Wizard.

3) I have all files in the same (single) directory.

4) No, I Don't you have any files with embedded spaces.

5) What version and SP of VFP are you running?
VFP 06.008961 SP5

No I don't install any Wizard updates... Where can I find any ?

Many thanks for your assistance.

If you go to you'll see there were individual Setup Wizard updates for 6.0 if you were on SP 2 or earlier, or VFP 5.0. This doesn't apply in your case.

I really don't have any other answers, but of course a couple more questions.
1) What OS and SP are you building the Setup on? (Win 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP)
2) Does the error occur on a specific OS, or "all" of them?
3) What's the exact error message?
4) If you are installing on NT / 2000 / XP, does the current user have Admin rights?
5) Are any other applications running when you are attempting this install - including any Virus Checker?

(That's it for this time! <g>)

I use Win98 SE
Setup wizard passed OK, but when I try run install they shows me "Setup was not completed successfuly" (in the last step of setup program {when I clicked on computer's icon to install} )
I have close all app when I running setup...

Based on all your answers, I'm not seeing anything obvious. Does the application still run - even with the "error" messages on the install?

Unless the station you are trying to install on is on a network where the administrator has set up Group Policy restrictions that somehow prevents part of your install, I really don't have any other ideas.
