Setup new email account in Outlook 2002

I am having a problem setting up a new email account in Outlook 2002.

After I set it up I get an error that the email server rejected my login and it asks me for my name and password again.

So I setup the account in Outlook Express 6 and it works. I then used the same settings in Outlook 2002 and it didn't work. So I imported the account from Outlook Express. Still doesn't work.

All my other accounts in Outlook 2002 work fine.

1)Try Disabling the Internet Connection Firewall.
2)Disable any Norton or Virus Applications running.
3)Delete all the accounts in Outlook 2002
4)Please check your user name and passowrd once again.

Thanks for your reply.

Numbers 1, 2 & 4 I had already tried but tried again. No luck.

Number 3 I would not do since recreating all my accounts (that work fine), rules etc would take way too much time.

I know I have the name & password correct since it works in Outlook Express and then was imported from OE to Outlook.

Im having the same problem with setting up a hotmail account through outlook 2002.

it sets up ok but wont update live mails!
i have to log out and back in again.

i have the settings to check for new mails every 5 mins.
