-Make sure that both the size and type of media are the same in both trays.
-Make sure that the paper guides in both trays are correctly set for the media size.
-Make sure that the menu values for both size and type are set correctly in the printer's paper menu(see * below).
-Make sure that the printer's software is correctly configured for additional trays(see ** below).
* Configure printer for linking trays:
-Press the Menu button on the printer's operator panel.
-Press the Down arrow button until -> appears next to Paper Menu, and then press the Select button.
-Press the Down arrow button until -> appears next to Paper Size/Type, and then press the Select button.
-Press the Down arrow button until -> appears next to Tray X Size/Type(where X is the tray's number), and then press the Select button.
-Press the Down arrow button until -> appears next to the paper size you loaded, and then press the Select button.
-Press the Down arrow button until -> appears next to Tray X Size/Type, and then press the Select button.
-Press the Down arrow button until -> appears next to the paper type you loaded, and then press the Select button.
-The printer returns to Ready.
** Configure software for additional trays:
-In Windows XP, click Start/Control Panel/Printers and Other Hardware/Printers and Faxes.(For all other O/S's, click Start/Settings/Printers)
-Right-click the printer icon, and select Properties.
-On the Installed Options tab, select 250-sheet tray or 550-sheet tray in the Available Options list.
-Click Add.
-Click OK, and close the Printers folder.
