When installing "some" programs, I occasionally run into an error 703 or 704, "SETUP.INS is corrupted".
I have two different systems:
Asus A7V-E mobo - Via KT133 chipset
Asus V7100 Pro - GeForce MX400 video card
750 Mhz Duron
Windows 98 SE
Intel 815EEB mobo
Integrated Video
800 Mhz PIII
Windows 98
The error only occurs on the first system (Asus - Duron) and works fine on the PIII system.
I've read several other articles regarding this error, but the suggested fixes didn't work for me. In the past, it was suggested to clean temp files and internet cache, and even rename all setup files under the windows\system folder to the .OUT extension. Also, I can assure you I have the latest Via chipset drivers installed.
Any suggestions? Please help!!
