I want to setup 2 NIC on Windows 2000 Server. What would be the IP Address Assignment on both Card. Public and Private.
Here IS What I setup as :

NIC 1 192.168.1.2 {WIN2000 Plus MAIL SERVER}
255.255.255.0
Router 192.168.1.1

NIC 2 10.0.0.2
255.255.255.0
Router Blank

NIC 1 Connects to a router with a fixed IP 66.2.x.x. The above configuration is not working.I can browse the net with 192.168.1.2 connected and recieve the email on the mail server but when I connect the workstation with 2NIC I am unable to browse the net or even ping the server.
Your Comments Thanks

A little confusing. Are you connecting another computer up to the nic2 card and trying to run through the server to the router and out to the net? If so, then you need to use the ip
of the nic1 card as the default gateway for nic2.

wkStation --> nic2[addr:10.0.0.2,default gateway:192.168.1.2] -->nic1[addr:192.168.1.2,default gateway:192.168.1.1]
-->router-->internet

If this is not what you are trying to do, then I would need more of an explanation/clarification of what you are attempting to do.
