I just got a new laptop & can't seem to get A.S.A. working properly.

A.S.A. version = 1.12.02.02
Dialup Modem = analog modem with no error correction
Default Emulator = 4410

When I try to get into the Definity, I can get all the way through the logon & password prompts -- Once I press "F7" at the "terminal type" prompt, my session times out. A list history on the switch shows my logon, but A.S.A. won't let me go any further. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks in advance for any help or suggestions!

What happens when you just type in 4410 instead of F7??

I tried that once by mistake & the session went crazy. ASA even advises to press "F7" at the terminal type.

Did you buy it from Avaya? If so, they will walk you thru the set up. If not, where did you get it, so we can all get copies as well.

There is a patch to take you up to 1.12.02.03, maybe this will help you out!

One thing you could try is setup a new generic device and just set the modem command to AT&F. This will set your modem to it's proper defaults.

Good luck!

Try using "Start Emulation" instead of "Start GEDI". If you go in through emulation, you'll want to put the terminal type in at 4410.

The only other thing I would try is the modem rate. Try making it slower.

I set my modem to just plain old analog modem and it finally worked. Control C is a short cut to emulation if this helps. Also you can do a test in hyperterminal to see whats going on.

if you read the dialog box it says at the terminal type prompt press f7, do not type 4410 or anything just press f7
