Setting win2k pro policies on an NT domain

Hi,

I've a large number of w2k pro workstations running on a domain controlled by an NT4sp6 PDC.

I want to get the machines syncing their clocks together, but without a w2k PDC, the w32time service doesn't work. The option that seems best is to use NT4 server's w32time (NTP) and set up the users logon scripts to sync the time (using the net time command).

However, as these scripts run with user priviledges, and these users don't have the priviledges required to set the system clock, the script fails.

I don't fancy running around 100 workstations setting local policies so I was wondering if it is possible to set w2k network policies on an NT server (NT's poledit worn't work as user policies are set in the user manager and not apparently user poledit).

Any ideas welcome...

Can you find out what registry changes are made when Users added to change system time policy? If so, you could just apply this to each machine as a registry import.

You could use mmc from one of the 2k machines and connect to each of the others in turn with the group policy snap-in (& then change time setting). Not very elegant or quick though!
