If you set up terminal services in remote administration mode vs. application mode can you run applications or just remotely manage the server? Thanks in advance.

Technically, you can run just about any application that is loaded on the server (word, excel, etc). The only limitation is that you will only have two connections to the server at any one time.

-hope this helps..

Thanks Jpoandl. You can only have two remote connections at one time right? This does not affect local connections does it?

This does not effect local connections. If someone if logged onto the server locally, they will not see any indications of users being logged through Terminal services. The only exception is if the locally logged on user (to the server) tried to reboot the server, a warning will be displayed if users are logged into the server through terminal services.

A max of two users can be connected through terminal services at any one time. If a third person tries to connect, they won't be able to.
