Setting Up SNMP Email Alerts In IBM Director

I have set up Email Alerts to go to my monitoring teams distro. My problem is that I want more flexibility with the emails. I need to have a treshold of at least 10 minutes for an alert before an email is sent. We're currently getting spammed by email notifications from Director.

What's a good solution?

IBM Director doesn't work that way, and 10 minutes is a long time for a production server to be down before anyone notices. Filter the emails sent by Severity - only email the important (critical, warning) stuff. You probably only want the email for things requiring your immediate attention anyway, and if it's critical, you definitely will want to know ASAP, so waiting for a time threshold isn't really the best solution. Assuming your distribution list is composed of folks that you've granted at least some level of access to the IBM Director console, you can configure non-critical events to run on the ticker across the console and have the users run the console all the time.

Let me get a little more detailed with our greatest issue to better help you understand.

Our concern is that the system offline and system online alerts are classified as "Harmless". When we try to set a threshold Nth event we can't on system Offline because of course it only happens once. We would only like it to send an email on these offline/online alerts only after X times that is would have occurred since these are the alerts that are spamming us.

Is there someway we can set a threshold for offline/online alerts? Some work around..? This is our greatest problem. The rest we can filter or use the IBM Directors thresholds or email filters like you said.
