Can someone tell me how to set up a resource such as a meeting room or projector in ex2k so that users can book the resource using their calendars.

thanks

kenny

Kenny, read the excellent FAQ in the Exchange 5.5 forum. Don't know if it is identical in 2k, but it should get you most of the way there.

You create an account for each resource. Then you have many ways of managing the resources. If you own Exchange 2000 you should also have a copy of Outlook 2002.

This is by far the easiest way to do things.

Log in to the account and start Outlook 2002. Setup the mapi account and go to the calender option and resouce scheduling. In here you can select who you want to have permission to book and let the account auto accept bookings, and decline conflicts etc.

I think Q291617 will tell you exactly but microsoft seem to be having some problems so I could not check for you.

Alternatively you can setup someone to delegate the resources or script everything. Which I can give you if you like but Outlook 2002 will allow everything to without a delegate and is very easy.

Are you sure that is a Public article? I can't pull it up from home? I'll check at work tomorrow. Dan

I was wondering after you setup all the resource accounts, do you still need to have an Outlook client connected managing all these resources or does the server do it automatically in Exchange 2000?
