Hi,

I have just bought an HP Business Inkjet 1100dtn. I am having real trouble trying to set it up on the network.

I set it up and it all looks OK, then when I try to set it up at a workstation, when I print, the print job just says its READY, instead of PRINTING.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this might be happening.

I have removed the printer, Queue and printer server in NWAdmin and re-installed it all again a few times, but to no avail.

Thanks,

Emily

Hi,

Have you associated the objects to each other in NWadmn32 ?

Assign Queue to Printer and Printer to Print Server.

Normally if a job gets to the queue but never prints, the print server is not picking up the job and sending it to the printer.

Hi Lou,

Thanks for replying.

Yeh, I set up the printer, print server and Q using 'Print Services Quick Setup', so they all connect to eachother automatically.

I don't suppose you know whether the IPX name that you give the printer in Web jetadmin ends up being the name of the printer or the name of the print server do you? I have been assuming that it's the name of the printer.

Hi all.

I just got annoyed with it all and have now installed NDPS - how lovely it is......

...works a treat.

Cheers!

Emily.
