Hey guys,

I needed to setup Paging equipment at a new location. I have the programming piece of it down, just need to know what other equipment to purchase. I assume there will need to be a loudspeaker somewhere. Is it as simple as buying a page pack and runing from the switchport to the device and then up to the loudspeaker. I have a G3R Release 11.

That is one way to do it.
You can also get self amplified speakers, You provide them with voltage from a power source and tip & ring right from the aux port.

You may or may not need to have a 909 voice coupler installed for protection into your G3r. It is dependant on the type of paging system you purchases. I think Avaya offers Bogen (again). Page-Pac was the system of choice. You should be able to contact each vendor to see the specifications you require. They are fairly simple to install.

As far as the equipment goes, I would purchase an amplifier with enough inputs that you can control the volume of all your input devices individually. For example, we have paging and 4 tone generators on our paging system. We purchased two seperate amplifiers, one for the office and one for the shop. Both amps have 6 available inputs. Each device is split off to both amps and has its own channel on each amp. This way we can control the volume of each tone independantly of paging. We can also adjust the master volume in the shop to be louder than the office area. This will give you the best flexibility.
