Setting up Meirdian Mail on an Option 11

I have an Option 11 (Version 1411 Release 21 Issue 35 +) and I am setting up Meridian Mail (circa 1996) on it. Supposedly they are from the same working system.

Last week I changed my CFN in LD 17 and added AML's 8 and 9; when I enable the console and the AML data ports I get an AMLM022 08 error and LNK055 for 8 and 9 respectively.

Did I miss a step or 2 (maybe I did something last week that I forgot to mention here)?

What follows is my repeating errors and the errors that I received while enabling.

Thank you for your assistance!!
Barry

AML should be for the Meridian Mail, LSL (low speed link ) on tty 8, not aml

I would OUT AML 8 and build TTY 8 as phonez1 states above. Also use the command Giblett mentions but for AML 9, not 8.

I am partially getting this.

I OUTed AML 8 and built TTY8

Then I did -

LNK055

Thanks for your help

that looks correct, what happens now when you boot mail? Remember, unless you are installing s/w, boot with the tape out of the drive.

Boot mail and in the 11, in LD48 enl aml 9 acms, and wait, you should see a CSA003 in a few minutes, remember, mail is slow, be patient

I would say that the LSL and AML was configured but the VAS was not.

There's a VAS ID associated with AML 9.

So I added the VAS, ACD 7000 and 8 Merdian Mail 2008’s. I still was receiving the CSA001 9 time/date 9 every 30 minutes. I got frustrated with the whole thing and did an EDD then power cycled the main cabinet. Set the time and date and worked on other projects for the rest my day yesterday. When I came into work this morning I was greeted with a lot more of the following errors.

When I dial 7000 I get “Release and try again”.

When I access the Meridian Mail terminal (using AX) I instantly receive AMLM024 8 and no response from Mail (I am not surprised by this, just added in case it is helpful)

Could the NTAK14 card be bad? Or am I missing something else?

Thanks again,
Barry
