Setting up hp printer

I've recently installed an HP 6 and used jet direct to set it up. J/D pings it, prints to it.

I set it up in /etc/hosts. I can print to it thru "root" but the work station cannot. What am I missing??? The GUI even shows the printer at both the root user and the w/s user. The W/S dials in with Cross talk. Cross talk has a script that I've changed to LPR1272, but it won't print and NO ERRORS! I can reset the script to LPR1271, their old printer, and it will print to that printer.

I did not get the right picture of your problem but let me know , is your printer on the network with its own ip address? or is attached to a W/s?
