Hello All,

I've followed the advice on the forum and I from what I have read, I should be able to get a fax now but I can't.

Here is my system;
5 Slot Carrier. Slot 1 is a 308EC R3, Slot 2 is a Parner Messaging R1.0 w/2 port V, Slot 3 is the ACS processor R6 and slot 4 is another 308EC but an R1.

I have assigned Ext 25 as a fax extension. I have verified that it is extension 25 by plugging in a phone and paging ext 25 and that line picking up. I have also logged into the system admin and verified that this is a fax extension. I am also able to send a fax from that extension. The problem starts is when I try to manually transfer a fax call to that extension.

I am at extension 10 and when I pick up the ringing line, I hear the fax tone, I hit transfer 25 and hang up. At that point, nothing happens. The fax shows no signs of life and the call eventually rings back to me. You never see the line light turn red. It's always green like it's waiting for someone to pick up. The fax is set to auto answer after one ring.

Besides trying to do this, what else an I doing wrong?

Well you won't believe it. After all this stuff, it works! I changed the 2 pair to a single pair and it answered straight away. I guess even the smallest of things helps.

Thanks to 1043 and everyone who offered advice. I wish I could buy you all a beer. It is MUCH appreciated!!!

You can still buy us a beer....you want my paypal account to deposit 2 bucks?

Good to hear you have it working. In this business there is no telling what you come across sometimes.

I have had issue with the 2nd pair when being used for analog, always switch to a single pair cord for analog on partners. Some analog phones do not like this situation either, and have seen intermittent problems with them, which are always a pain.

Sorry I did not see this one sooner, I have been off a few days.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.

Hi Guys,

Me again... Well my fax woes are not over yet. I have the fax line coming in on line 7 and it's attached to Ext 25. The problem I now have is that when someone calls in on our regular numbers (2 main numbers. One rings on line 1 and the other on line 3), the fax picks up and answers the call.

Any MORE ideas?

In system programming, select extension 25. If line 7 is the only line that the fax is supposed to answer, make lines 1 thru 6 no ring on that extension. This way, when the fax selects a line, it still has all 7 lines it can make a call out on but only line 7 will ring immediately and the fax will pick up.

You could unassign all lines except line 7 from x25. #301, if memory serves me.

You do not always get what you pay for, but you never get what you do not pay for.
