Hi
I am trying to setup a Windows 2003 server from scratch. I have the 180 day eval. version from microsoft.I bought a huge book by Mark Minasi covering 2003 server but I need something more step by step.Is there a web site or a book I could buy that would lead me through the entire process step by step,,not just in chunks?
Thanks
John

Ok.. I didnt see the topic that was started right next to mine...still..Im just concentrating on 2003 server alone.
Thnx

Do you want steps on just installation or configuration too? Installation is really no different than any other version of windows. Just format the c:, boot to cdrom, and run setup.. not necessarily in that order

I got the install down and I have dcpromo on my screen where I can add any component. I just wish I had material that would teach me about setting up clients, active directory, gpo's and all that goes along with it.
Thanks

I have MS Windows Server 2003 Administrator's Pocket Consultant (MSPress), although relatively light, covers things pretty well I find.

If I remember Mark Minasi's book "Mastering Windows Server 2003", it did cover the items that you are looking at. If you want something more indepth, you'll probably need to get books specifically for each subject....

Thanks for all your help.Ill try looking at some of your suggestions
