Setting Up A Mail Server - V7.0

Hi,

I'm trying to setup a mail server on a machine running V7.

Under Enterprise Manager ,I right click on The envelope icon and go to properties, it asks me for the MAPI profile for which I have none listed. Do I have to get my Exchange people to set something up / enable a service somewhere ? I appreciate that this is probably not a straight forward question but would appreciate any assistance to help get this mail server up and running on this SQL Server.

You need a MAPI profile set-up on your computer for the mail option to work. You need outlook or similar installed and then you need to set-up a valid profile, SQL server should display the profile when you create it via outlook, hope this helps.
