I am running a sunblade 150 with Solaris 8 installed. I have a locally connected printer that I would like to share out to handle print requests from 4 Windows machines. Does anyone know how such a thing is accomplished? Ive seen peice parts, but none really work. Any help is appreciated.

Using admintool go to Browse ---> Printers. Select Edit ---> Add ---> Access to Printer. Fill in the blanks and select OK. Keep in mind the printer name must be the same name you used on the print server.

How would that let me advertise it as a network printer to Windows machines if it is locally attached to the same machine im trying to advertise it as? I dont mean to be simple, but I dont have a lot of experience when it comes to print servers and how to make them work (without a jetdirect, that is.)

Oops sorry missed part that you were trying to use Windows machines. Thought you wanted to use other Solaris workstation.

Ah, the ultimate catch :)
