Hello,

I'm new to all this so I'm a little confused...

Basically, I currently have a domain being hosted by another company, but I'd now like to host it myself. So I want to setup a DNS server that I manage.

I think I can setup the server fine, except for adding the 'forwarders'. I'm not 100% sure what I can put in here...I read on the net that you can put your ISP's DNS server, but I'm guessing I'd need permission, or they'd need to allow it. Is this correct?

Are there any free DNS server that I can use to forward all DNS traffic to my DNS server?

I hope this makes sense.

Thanks,

Matthew
