How do I set up 2 isp so I can have 2 shortcuts on the desktop? I know how to change the tcp/ip dns and access number to switch connections. If I try to add a second tcp/ip, they both get the same host, domain, and dns.
For a second dial-up account, I go to My Computer, Dial-up Networking, and Make New Connection. Same process as the first connection, all done in the same window/s. Never opened Network in Control Panel to do it.
Then I right-clicked each and and set up the properties.
After making sure each worked, then I right-clicked each and dragged them to the Desktop, creating shortcut [NOT copy].
Are the 2 sp accounts both dialup connections? If so are the IP addresses static or dynamic? Most dialups are dynamic IP addresses in which case your network settings should be set to automatic detection. These settings should work for both isps, the only difference is the number you call so the last message is right. Two seperate dialup connections with shotcuts is the way to go.
